Sonic Revolution – A Tribute To The MC5
Rockumentary about the three surviving members of the revolutionary
1960s rock group coming together for a London tribute show.
In March this year, the three surviving members of one of the most
influential rock groups of all time reformed for a one-off tribute
show at London’s legendary 100 Club. Joining original MC5 members
Wayne Kramer, Michael Davis and Dennis ‘Machine Gun’ Thompson
on stage were Lemmy, Dave Vanian of The Damned, Nicky Royale of the
Hellacopters and Ian Astubury. This programme intersperses explosive
concert footage with rare archive and interviews with commentators
like Radio 1’s Zane Lowe and musicians such as the White Stripes’ Jack
White. It tells the gripping story of a group who survived through
drug addiction, FBI surveillance and the white heat of the 60s to
become key influences in the new rock revolution.
